Time Limit: Focus Time is operated by Jonibek Buronov. This policy explains the data used by the app, optional shared rooms, and this website. Contact boronovjonibek@gmail.com with privacy questions.
Personal timers and device sync
Categories, appearance and language preferences, active personal timers, session history, saved room codes, local room aliases, and visit dates are stored locally. Solo use does not require an account. When you sign in, completed session history, categories, timer and break durations, appearance, clock style, and clock color sync through your account across devices. These records are private to your account and are not shared with friends or room participants. Language, active personal timers, local room aliases, saved room visits, and introduction progress remain on each device. Offline changes are stored locally and sync after reconnection. New sessions do not collect task names; legacy task fields are not uploaded.
Optional accounts and rooms
When you sign in with Apple, the server verifies your Apple identity token. We store your Apple account identifier, in-app account identifier, participant name, friend code, account creation date, and authentication session records. The account flow does not store your Apple password or Apple email address.
For rooms and social features, the server stores room codes, membership, participant names, room expiry, friend relationships and requests, recent encounters, and invitations. Other participants can see your name and live timer state, including focus, pause, break, and timer timing information. Your chosen category is shared only with your consent. Task names are not broadcast. A local room alias is not a shared room name.
Why we use this data
Account identifiers and authentication session records authenticate participants and protect account-bound room membership. Completed timer records and preferences provide private cross-device synchronization. Room data makes live presence and participant timers work. Social records support friend requests and invitations. Data is used to provide these features and maintain security and reliability.
Services and technical records
Apple provides Sign in with Apple. Hosting and database providers process the server data necessary to operate the service. Network requests expose your IP address to the service, and server access logs may record IP addresses, request paths, timestamps, and response status for operation and security. We do not include third-party advertising or marketing analytics SDKs in the app, sell your personal data, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
This website uses no advertising cookies or analytics scripts. If you email support, we receive the information you choose to send and use it to answer your request.
Storage and retention
Temporary rooms expire after 24 hours and are eligible for automatic database cleanup. Invitations, encounters, login challenges, and authentication sessions have expiry dates and are also eligible for automatic cleanup. Account, friend, and synced timer records remain until removed or deleted. Category deletion is synchronized using a deletion marker so an offline device does not restore an old copy. The service also stores random sync device identifiers and operation sequence numbers to avoid replaying changes. Operational records and backups may remain as needed for service recovery, security, and legal obligations. Local app data remains on your device until you remove it or delete the app.
Your choices
You can use solo timers without signing in, choose not to share a category, leave a room, remove a friend, and sign out. Signing out revokes the active server session; it does not delete the account. Request access, correction, or deletion of server-side account data at boronovjonibek@gmail.com. Include your in-app friend code; we may verify ownership before processing the request.
Security
The app uses HTTPS for server connections. Authentication and room reconnection secrets are kept in the device's secure storage. The server stores hashes of authentication session tokens. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children
The app is a general-purpose timer and is not specifically directed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through an account or room, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app's data practices change. The effective date above will identify the latest version.
